A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Jay & Laura’s Love
Here’s a super sweet wedding to brighten up any Monday blues you may have. Here it’s overcast with threat of storms, but I’m actually excited about it. I love me a good ole’ thunderstorm! I also love me a fabulous celebration of love: Enter Jay and Laura! From the gorgeous wedding grounds, to the sweet smiles, how wonderful to witness Jay and Laura’s wedding!
Laura included some commentary on these certain songs were chosen:
Sweet Avenue – Jets to Brazil
We were on an afternoon drive, before we were engaged, and he played it. We both cried because it just fit us and our life so well.
Pistol – Dustin Kensrue
For the longest time I was NOT a morning person. I believe he had me listen to this song while he was on tour. It was so comforting and perfect for our unconventional situation.
Possession – Sarah McLachlan
When my Dad and my stepmom, Sarah, got married, this was their song. It was so important to me, and to Jay, to honor them in some way. They supported us from day one and helped us immeasurably to ensure that our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. They continue to help and support us on our journey and we will always be grateful for that.
Closing Time – Semisonic
When I was much younger I went camping with my Dad, Sarah, brother, Harry, my closest cousins and our cousins from Rochester, Michigan. On this trip we all talked about how much we loved the song and sang it together constantly. Every time we would see each other again, we made sure to play it and sing it at every bar. So at the end of the night, me, my closest cousins, brother and new husband stood together in a circle and sang it. It was one of my favorite moments in the night.
