Thee Oh Sees – Flood’s New Light

I know I’ve put random songs by Thee Oh Sees on mixes across the site, but apparently I haven’t ever featured them as a Tuesday Tune! Seeing them live last week was an incredible experience…one that I had been waiting to have for YEARS. I shimmied and shook the entire time they played. If they are EVER coming on tour near you (or you’re lucky to be in the San Fran area) make it a point to catch their show. They have quite the discography, and this track is from their newest album.

I love it when I find songs to match the day. While I know all of our weather is not the same, this song fits this particularly cloudy (yet nice) lazy kinda day I’m having here. There’s just the right amount of hand claps to keep my feet tapping and head bobbing. Complete with sweet synths and groovy guitars, it’s a good’un!

DIIV – Doused

My husband and I have been in “Fall cleaning” mode XTREME. We are trying to have a yard sale on Saturday and have been working hard cleaning all of the nooks and crannies and assessing all of our collections. Since it’s my last weekend until wedding season hits full swing, we’ve been having to work around the clock to ensure this sale actually happens. How does this relate to Tuesday’s tune? Well, only because this is one of the songs on the Let’s Do This Shit motivational playlist! I love how catchy it is! Helps keep everything movin’ and groovin’ right along. (that’s what she said)

While I enjoy all of the songs on Temples’ soundcloud, I thought it would be best to share the track that could appear on a wedding playlist! If you’ve been a reader of this blog for sometime, it’s no secret I have a love for the psych/garage rock of the 60s era. When I hear of bands around today (like The Sufis or Temples) it makes my heart pitter patter to hear the influence of the past decades resurfacing!

The Tough Shits – Heard She Kisses on the Mouth

I can’t stop spinning their new record! Even though this particular track is from an earlier EP, I’m in love with just about every song they have! It’s pop punk perfect for summer! Definitely a tune that gets stuck in my head – but that’s ok! Alright, I’m off to satisfy this overwhelming Chinese food craving that just took over me, but you can guarantee I’ll be humming this most of the day! Happy Tuesday!
