I’m am truly sad to have to say Rest In Peace Alex Chilton. Ironically, I was listening to Big Star today…right around the time of the heart attack. My husband and I were planning on going to their reunion show in Memphis, but it looks like that won’t happen. In fact, hubby just muttered “this is the worst St. Patrick’s Day ever” and I couldn’t agree more.

Dear Alex, thanks for being awesome not only in the Box Tops, but also Big Star. Maybe it’s time for everyone to light up a J in honor of this awesome man (lol get it? from the song “In the Street” when he sings “wish we had a joint so bad”). ok yeah.

You can guess what will most likely be on repeat all this week at the record store…
