A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Gwen & David’s Rockin’ Romantic Night
What do you get when you mix pure elegance with a little bit of rock ‘n roll? Gwen and David’s wedding, of course! From the pearls “raining” from the centerpieces, to the classic red roses, to the fancy lace veil…and then to the rockin’ font used on the CDs – it all came together beautifully for their special day. Gwen is another crafty bride that used the CD-favors as place cards for the tables. Thanks Gwen for sending the details of the wedding, and thanks to Stephanie Williams for sharing the lovely snapshots!
I used the CDs as placecards. I named each table after a song. And for each guest I put the song name and guest name….(in case anyone got confused, I put table numbers also). On the CDs were these songs:
Sublime – Santeria
Jack Johnson – Times like these
Plain White Tees – 1,2,3,4
Unwritten Law – Angel
Slick Shoes – I knew
Yellow Card – October Nights
Get Up Kids – I’ll Catch You
Jimmy Eat World – Just Watch the Fireworks
Jimmy Eat World – For me this is Heaven
Bloc Party – I still remember
The Cure – Halo
Mazzy Star – Faded on to you
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Snow
Stella Starr – Love and Longing
Tegan and Sara – Take me anywhere
Stars – Ageless Beauty
The Cure – Just like Heaven
Weezer – Island in the Sun
Queen – Can’t Stop me now
Ceremony Music
Groomsman and Family Processional: It Happened – Dirty Three
Bridesmaids Processional: Look into the Air – Explosions in the Sky
Bride Processional: Hoppipolla – Sigur Rios
Communion and Thanking of Parents: Remember me as a time of Day – Explosions in the Sky
Recessional: Just like Heaven (instrumental) – The Cure
Reception Music
Bridal Party Entrance: Feel Good Inc – Gorillaz
Bride & Groom Entrance: Dare – Gorillaz
First Dance: You’re my best friend – Queen
Father Daughter Dance: Both Sides Now – Judy Collins
Slideshow: Only in Dreams – Weezer
Last Song of the Night: Sweetness – Jimmy Eat World

OH my gah. Walking down the aisle to Sigur Ros is…an insanely great…wow. I haven’t decided how traditional I am yet, but Mono, Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky will certainly make an appearance. haha.
