A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Graham & Michelle’s Music Filled Marriage
When Michelle emailed me about featuring her wedding, I didn’t have to look past the first sentence to know it would be a perfect fit! I’m loving how much she shared, as it’s a great insight to the day…and to her and Graham as a couple!
Music was the foundation to my husband and I’s relationship. It was our common ground and throughout our relationship we have seen countless numbers of bands together. It was actually the way he proposed to me! He made a trail with tickets to monumental shows we had been to over the 5 years we dated, all with a little story as to why that show was important to our relationship. He was waiting at the end, with the ring! Because music is such a huge part of who we are as a couple we knew we wanted to create our own play list for our wedding. I work for an audio-visual company so we rented speakers, a mixer and played all our music off our ipod. Graham was in charge of putting together our mixes, he was always better at putting mixed cd’s together than I was! I wanted people to hear us through out music but I also wanted everyone to have a great time, It was a little difficult to make the two work but Graham pulled it off perfectly! Our guests never stopped dancing!
We wanted music to peek through in other parts of our wedding as well. Throughout our wedding we used the lyrics “Its just me and you, our nation of two” which is from the song ‘On Husbands Wives’ by Quiet Company. It was used in our engagement shoot, our invitations, stir sticks and pin back buttons I designed. I used my now mother in law’s old piano music sheets when making our flower toss cones. I also used the music sheets to make heart shaped table confetti. The band Dredg is Graham’s favorite band. He made their first fan based website and so they have maintained a relationship far before I knew Graham. The bassist Drew Roulette hand painted our cake topper which was extremely special for us to have on our big day.
Here is the music breakdown:

Loveeee this! I’m Taylor’s wife (singer of Quiet Company) and we were just talking about how special it is, the other day, that people are using Quiet Company songs on their big days. So so so love it!
