A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Gus & Ashley’s White Wedding
With a surname like “White” there’s the obvious Billy Idol reference…and that’s exactly what Ashley and Gus wanted! Lucky for them their wedding date (10.10.10) made a nice day for a White Wedding inside a gorgeous historic theater. Ashley shares information about the music they chose:
Our playlist was a perfect mixture of both of us, with everything from Led Zeppelin to “The Cupid Shuffle” making an appearance throughout the day. One of my goals for the day was to get everyone—and I mean everyone, from my tutu’ed flower girls to my 90-year-old grandma—out on the dance floor to do the latter, and one of my prouder moments was looking around and realizing that goal had been accomplished.
The Prelude Playlist
Coldplay – Yellow
Vast – Flames
Jim Sturgess – Across the Universe
Led Zeppelin – Thank You
No Doubt – Running
Gregory & the Hawk – Boats and Birds
Jim Sturgess & Dana Fuchs – All You Need Is Love
Moulin Rouge – Come What May
Jason Michael Carrol – Livin’ Our Love Song
Processional and seating of the parents/grandparents: One (Metallica Cover) – Apocalyptica
Bridesmaids and flower girl processional: Once Upon a Time – Kev-Kevin Ronas
Bride Processional: The Rain Song – Led Zeppelin
Recessional: Three Little Bird – Bob Marley
Reception Entrance: Forever – Chris Brown (partially because, admittedly, we both fell in love with the song when we saw that infamous viral video on YouTube—& partially because of its involvement in Jim & Pam’s wedding on “The Office,” of which I’m a fan.)
First Dance: Nothing Else Matters – Metallica
Cake cutting: Livin’ Our Love Song – Jason Michael Carrol
Bouquet toss: Party Hard – Andrew W.K.
Garter toss: The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) – R.E.M. (as an ironic thing, I swear; Gus actually asked me beforehand if I’d be OK with that song choice, because he thought it was hilarious—oh, and then he proceeded to conspire with his best man to get props & hide them all in his jacket before he came to do the garter. This resulted in him pulling out a leather whip, a small toy car and a disposable camera before he got down to the garter itself.)
Last dance: Mony Mony – Billy Idol

Love the shot with her jumping and her curls in the air. So much life in that one.
