A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Felicity & Scott’s Classical Jazzy Celebration
Some couples plan a song for every step, while others load their earlobes with all sorts of music, hit random and write their own soundtrack. Felicity and Scott are like the latter…the put all of their favorite songs on an ipod and hit shuffle for a rockin’, random reception! While certain songs did highlight key ceremony moments, they also gave a CD favor for the guests to take home the audible memories of their day!
Scott is a jazz saxophonist and Felicity was a classical violinist, which is actually how they met. This is the story from Felicity: Scott and I met while at university, we were both studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music – Scott on jazz saxophone and me on classical violin. When we met we were like two magnets, we’ve been inseparable ever since. I was only 19 at the time and had never been in love, but I knew almost instantly that we were meant to be. We chose to include a Winnie the Pooh poem in our wedding invitations that sums us up: ‘Wherever I am there’s always Pooh, there’s always Pooh and me’. We’re like two peas in a pod.

Scott is the Musical Director of Jazz Fever, which is a Sydney-based Jazz band and some of the members played during the ceremony. They had the jazz pianist and female vocalist learn the catholic hymns for all the guests to sign along with including Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 42 and the hymn Come To A Wedding.
