A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Chrissy & Tim’s Timeless Tunes
Holy smokes. Those two words sum up the music masterpiece that is Chrissy and Tim’s wedding! Looking to inspire other brides, Chrissy sent me their wondrous nuptials and the music that surrounded such a special life moment. Brides, grooms, DJs, music lovers across the board – if you are looking for a wide variety (I’m talking from Punk to Soul to Reggae to 60s Psych and Rock to Indie to Electronic) then this is the perfect playlist for you to peruse! Plus the photos are amazing, and who can resist seeing such happy souls in deep love!
Chrissy shares: My hubs, Tim, and I are big fans of your blog! When we were planning our wedding, you were the best resource for folks who wanted to focus on unique, personalized music for their wedding. Music is so important to the both of us, and it is very refreshing to see a wedding blog on something that we care so much about!
We were married at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham, MA, on our 10th anniversary (to the day!). We wanted how meaningful this day was to us to be reflected in everything we did, and we wanted to include our loved ones in on it too.
Since it was at a museum, we didn’t really have to decorate, so we just focused on a few big pieces. For our invitation, we wrote, designed, illustrated, and hand-bound books about how we met (alternating crushes on each other since 8th grade), how we started dating, and our engagement story. We designed and illustrated our wedding program, which included a short list of songs that are near and dear to us. Our playlist helped our wedding have the fun, laid-back, and personal feel that we’d hoped for, and we all had a blast!
Tim and I both love lots of different kinds of music, and we wanted to share our exuberant musical tastes with our loved ones. We were also excited to have my brother/bridesman close out the evening with an all-out techno dance party (his specialty)! Here’s our list of songs that we nerded out on, that kept the party going all night (* means these songs were specially mentioned in our program as being near and dear to our hearts)
