A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Michael & Kimberly’s Funky Soul
Michael and Kimberly’s DIY wedding took place at a charming venue in New Jersey called The Woman’s Club. They gathered together a collection of unique vintage brass ornamental bells and animal pieces to decorate the tables with as well as arranging their own flowers, candles, tissue poms, bunting, and other unique crafted decor. Not only did this couple display an enormous commitment to making their wedding their own, their guests totally tore down the house when it came time to dance (which you know I love to hear)! The DJ, Mr. Finewine, spun from stax o’ wax and the room full of joyful, let-loose, make-awesome-faces-when-we-dance kind of crowd let loose!
First dance: Walk Through this World with Me – George Jones
Father/Daughter: Little Wing – Jimi Hendrix
Mother/Son: If Not for You – George Harrison
Band: Velvet Kings (lead by Howard Fields)
The DJ was Mr. Finewine, a WFMU all-vinyl DJ, specializing in funk & soul (does that fucking rule or what?!)
