A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Justin & Victoria’s Brooklyn Bash
Music played a big part on Justin and Victoria’s day, including their favorite moment from the day which Victoria describes in her own words…get ready to melt:
Without a doubt, my most treasured moment from a day filled with nothing but treasured moments, was when Justin and I had our first look at one another prior to the ceremony. All the girls had cleared out of the hotel room and it was suddenly still. It was a corner room, with huge windows and white billowy curtains that in the late afternoon sun, made the entire place glow. We had one of out favorite bands, Grizzly Bear, playing on the radio in the background. Julie had brought Justin inside and as I peeked out from behind the wall all I could see was soft white light and him. As I walked towards him it felt like I was in a cloud. Everything seemed to be in a slight, beautiful blur. When we finally faced each other it was surreal. I have never felt so much complete joy and peace, excitement and calm, thrill and content, all at the same time. I have no idea how long we stood there and laughed and kissed and held each other. It felt like time had froze and it was just the two of us alone in that cloud. It was him and I, all dressed up in our special grown up wedding clothes, giggling with each other that it was finally here, it was all happening. And in my mind, at that moment, staring at one another in awe, without saying anything at all, is when we really said “I do”.

Victoria chimes in more about the reception: Our amazing DJ, Duane Harriott, worked his magic and had the dance floor packed from beginning to end. Music is a huge part of our lives and was very important to us. We spent an entire Sunday holed up in our living room attempting to refine the perfect playlist. As the night came to a close, he had guests chanting “One More Song!” as if they were in the front row of a rock concert. It seemed as if our parents never sat down, they literally danced the night away as did most of the guests. My talented Aunt baked hundreds of cookies for dessert and we had what I proudly claim to be the smallest wedding cake in history. It was the size of an old 45 and covered with rainbow sprinkles. At the evening’s end, Justin and I snuck out the door and cruised down the street on his skateboard to the local dive bar. Our friends were not far behind us. Perfection.
