A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Erin & Matt’s Musical Memories
Erin met Matt while he was DJ’ing a monthly party with a mutual friend. Matt’s a musician and Erin actually had some of his songs on her iPod without knowing, only his name was misspelled (awww I imagine that was a cute bonding moment). A few years later, they moved in together and the amount of combined media was a bit daunting. In moved, with Matt, about 1,000 records, a million CDs and rare videos on VHS. Eventually Erin decided that she wanted to start DJ’ing with Matt. Donned with the moniker “DJ Stepmom” a local dive bar agreed to let them play records during happy hour.
Fast forward to a cross country move to New York (where they got engaged). When they started planning the wedding, Erin really wanted to be sure Matt’s interest came through. The 7″ records were used for the table numbers and vintage cassettes were found on ebay and acted as the escort cards. Each person got a different tape to keep! Their pal, DJ E da Boss, made sure the dance party rocked on!
