A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Thomas & Carrie’s Square Dancing Darlingness
What do you get when you combine overflowing love, great friends, fabulous family that also doubled as talented musicians? One crazy awesome intimate celebration of marriage! From the ceremony “readings” (which were sung by members of the bridal party) to the square dancing, fun just radiates from every image! For their rehearsal dinner, they had a céilidh, in which everyone performed! Carrie and Thomas sang The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Darlin’ Be Home Soon,” which became the theme song of the night.
Processional: Townes Van Zandt – “If I Needed You” (performed by their friend Timon) and “A Night in June” (an original song sang by Carrie’s sister, Kate)
Recessional: Elvis – “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” (performed by Matthew, one of the groomsmen…which prompted a spontaneous dance from Carrie’s parents who have been married over 30 years)
The reception featured a square dance of old-time string band music provided by friends The Bueno Avenue Stringband, with some family and friends sitting in.
