I’m gathering quite the page of kick ass vendors*. These are people in the industry that not only would you hire for your special day, but you can just as easily sit down with and have a beer (or coffee). And since Hi-Fi is all about the tunes in our lives, we’re gonna get to know what these peeps dig on musically.

Who says business and pleasure can’t mix? Husband and wife duos are some of the most insanely talented folks I’ve met! And to be able to work with your best friend?! How can it get any better? Maybe if you’re shooting kick ass couples getting hitched (and other life moments)! He & She Photography does just that! Randy and Erin are super cute, super talented, super lucky, and super in looooove. What more could you want from a killer duo?

Can you describe your life (so far) in 3-5 songs?
I think it’s safe to say both Randy and I are sentimental types. We are suckers for sweet lovey-dovey songs, but in specific musical niches. Up-beat happy music is what we prefer to listen to (especially while working), and I particularly like music with a little throw-back flavor. Randy grew up on 80’s rock and hardcore music, while I grew up on folk tunes. Very different music backgrounds, yes, but when we started dating, he quickly came around to my style (and he really had no choice, as I refused to listen to his music!) Anyway, here are five tracks that we enjoy and remind us of each other. “God Only Knows” was the song we danced to at our wedding, and the phrase is engraved on the inside of our wedding rings, as well as on our skin in our matching tattoos.

What is your favorite love song?
“God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys… that’s a no brainer.

If you could go see anyone perform live who would it be?
This is a terribly tough question, but I would have to say the (original) Beach Boys. Brian Wilson is just… wow. His music boggles my mind. I remember in college I wrote a 10 page research paper on him – it was an open topic paper, and it was basically an excuse for me to try and learn more about his genius!

What is your preferred format of music?
You can’t replace vinyl, though we listen to most of our music on our computers/iphones. Just convenient.

Are you a musician? If so, what do you play? If not, what would you play?
I (Erin) am a musician. I’ve been in a few musical collaborations over the years singing, playing guitar, keys and bass. I still love writing and recording whenever I get the time, and music will always be a big part of my life. If I were more gifted and could make a realistic income at it, music would be my first career choice. Hands down. But then again, I love photography, and music is a wonderful hobby!
