A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Chris & Krystal’s Farm Frolic
I am so excited to start getting weddings from the lovely engaged couples that have been featured on the site! This wedding is nothing short of awesome, and I’m sure a lot of you will totally love it! Today it’s the sweet souls of Chris and Krystal who continued their vintage style with their stunning wedding! While their are so many cute and steal-worthy details, I’m loving their mix the most (of course).
Music was the most important element for me. I worked hard on the styling and décor, but the music is what completed the experience and brought out the meaning. (…and that’s why you are a perfect fit for Hi-Fi my dear!)
Our Wedding CD Favor
This wasn’t about creating the feel good wedding soundtrack of the year. It was about telling our story—the good and bad—with songs that had deep significance to us. Narrowing it down was a little difficult.

Ceremony
Walking down the aisle to “Glosoli” by Sigur Ros has been my one and only long time wedding fantasy, and it was everything I wanted it to be. The bridesmaids and flower girl walked out to the first half while my dad and I hid in a field just down from the ceremony. We emerged from a mowed path at the top of a hill right at the high point of the song (4:32 to be exact).
Some people thought the end of “Glosoli” would be too loud or chaotic to pull off going down the aisle. But it worked perfectly in the summery outdoor setting, and it definitely brought out some tears!
Seating of Parents and Grandparents: “Passing Afternoon” by Iron and Wine
Groomsmen Processional: “Yawny at the Apocalypse” by Andrew Bird (this added a layer of unique beauty, creating this sort of swirling whimsical intensity just before my processional.)
Bridesmaid and Bride Processional: “Glosoli” by Sigur Ros
After Ring Exchange: “Love and Some Verses” by Iron and Wine
Recessional: “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Dance Party
Anyone who knows me knows I am OBSESSED with Prince. So it was only right to kick off the dance portion with his famous sermon: “Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life…”
My matron of honor and I have a very special song we like to perform as duet. “Tell Him” by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand had to be thrown in the mix. I’m always Celine Dion and Amanda is Barbara Streisand. We sang it at her wedding and we had to continue the tradition at mine. (haha this is so cute!)

I would have danced like a fool at this reception – and cried through the ceremony! Awesome! So many fabulous personal touches – that tree stump shot is a killer! I am scheming how to get my own for two weeks from now!

Love, love, love this wedding! It’s my new inspiration! Just wondering what type if flooring is down in the barn? We are having ours in our barn and it’s a diet floor… So I’m looking for suggestions! Thanks and congrats!!
