A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Kiwi & Brie’s Arizona Amore
I know I’ve expressed how much I love it when brides submit their weddings to Hi-Fi…but if I haven’t exclaimed how exciting it is to see a Bride Blogger that I follow – then here’s where Brie (and Kiwi) come in! It was such a delight to receive Brie’s email explaining the wonderful day and the songs that kept them dancing into the night.
Kiwi* and I were married on a warm and sunny Arizona afternoon, surrounded by our family and friends. The ceremony was simple and sweet. I wore my great-grandmother’s mantilla, which made it extra special. We sealed the deal with a kiss, just as the sun started to set behind the mountains. Dinner was catered by a local restaurant called Blue Adobe. We stuffed ourselves with cheesy green chile lobster dip and delicious chicken empanadas. Then, we washed it all down with copious amounts of homemade sangria and ice-cold Coronas. All the guests took silly pictures in the photo booth and it was time to hit the dance floor!
(OMG THAT DRESS)
Kiwi and I spent hours picking out the perfect songs to play during our wedding. Like everything else about our special day, we wanted the music to mean something to us. I walked down the aisle as an acoustic guitar played Sea Breeze by Tyrone Wells. I still remember listening to that very song on our first date! For our first dance we chose Annie’s Song by John Denver. Kiwi once told me that he thinks it’s the most romantic song ever written. If that’s not a heart-melter, I don’t know what is. My Puerto Rican grandmother specifically requested a little Latin music she could really dance to and we were all too happy to oblige. She even treated us to a few impromptu Salsa lessons! I can’t think of anything more wonderful than dancing the night away with the people you love most. It really was an amazing experience.
