A Real Hi-Fi Wedding: Dennis & Annette’s Marital Mystery Tour
The Beatles, love ’em or hate ’em – they are one of the defining bands from history. With so many wonderful songs all about love and happiness, it’s hard to not like them. It’s easy to be obsessed…and it’s awesome to base you’re whole wedding around the Fab Four! Annette and Dennis did just that…and look at all the happy, smiley faces celebrating love!
Ceremony Music
Ceremony musicians made up of the groom’s brother-in-law (on drums), performing best man (on vocals/guitar), another groomsman (keyboard) – which were later joined by the best man (on guitar) and another groomsman (on bass), after they walked down the aisle.
Entourage Processional: “Strawberry Fields Forever”
Bridal Processional: “Something” (Dennis sang lead on this one as I walked down the aisle…here is a video on YouTube)
Recessional: “Across the Universe”
Reception Music
A drummer friend of ours started the beat to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” as the entourage was introduced. Our best man and one of the groomsmen played guitar and bass, respectively. Sound built-up in time to introduce the bride and groom. Music segues to Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls”.
Some of our guests (relatives and friends) sang/played some Beatles songs for us. Groom’s brother-in-law put together a jam band to play some Beatles and other 60s hits. Bride’s nieces and nephews danced to “Twist and Shout”.
Instead of a first dance, Dennis (on guitar/vocals) and I (on bass/vocals), along with the best man (on lead guitar) and drummer friend performed Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. My band (with the best man), Random Ninjas, performed 2 original songs and our rockin’ rendition of Toto’s “Africa”.
Towards the end of the evening, Dennis (guitar/vocals), the best man (guitar), bass-playing groomsman and I (this time on drums), performed Metallica’s “Master of Puppets”.
