Meet the Vendor: Jenny Jimenez
Oh man, I have been slacking on presenting you Hi-Fi Vendors, so pardon my negligence! I’ll get back on track of featuring a vendor each week! I’m gathering quite the page of kick ass vendors/inspiration sites*. These are people in the industry that not only would you draw inspiration from for your special day, but you can just as easily sit down with and have a beer (or coffee). And since Hi-Fi is all about the tunes in our lives, we’re gonna get to know what these peeps dig on musically.
Rock chick turned photographer, yeah that’s pretty much my dream chick girl crush! Jenny won her way into my heart with her images initially, and then finding out how much of an awesome blossom she is sealed the deal! She’s Hi-Fi to the max and now captures anything from musicians, to weddings, to parties…check it!

Can you describe your life (so far) in 3-5 songs?
Ashley, I can name that life in 5 songs:
Childhood: We Got the Beat by the Go-Go’s
High School: Otto Titsling by Bette Midler, from the film Beaches
Early 20’s: Fuck and Run by Liz Phair
Late 20’s: All Hands on the Bad One by Sleater-Kinney
Early 30’s: Parade by Pretty Girls Make Graves
What is your favorite love song?
First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes
If you could go see anyone perform live who would it be?
Dinah Washington
What is your preferred format of music?
Something about the crackle of vinyl that takes me back to the womb. As a kid, my mom would take me to the local record store every week and let me pick out a 7″, provided I had completed all my chores. Thanks to her I have a nice collection of top 40 singles from the 80’s.
Are you a musician? If so, what do you play? If not, what would you play?
I played bass in an all-female power pop band called The Catch for a few years (see above photo). I also sang with Amy Blaschke’s band Night Canopy for a bit. I can’t say I’ve ever mastered a particular instrument though, and wasn’t very good at the ones I was tasked with playing. Sad to say, I’m more of a performer than musician. I’m sticking to running my wedding photography business for now.
*Do you know someone who should be on the vendor/inspiration page? Just email me and let’s chat!
