Meet the Vendor: Lindsey of DandyLion Events
I’m gathering quite the page of kick ass vendors/inspiration sites*. These are people in the industry that not only would you hire for your special day, but you can just as easily sit down with and have a beer (or coffee). And since Hi-Fi is all about the tunes in our lives, we’re gonna get to know what these peeps dig on musically.
I first met the lovely Lindsey two years ago at the first Hi-Fi Fest**! She had an amazing and creative booth set up and such a warm personality. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, DandyLion has a keen eye for design and focuses on alternative event planning. So whether you’re gettin’ hitched, plannin’ a baby shower, or throwin’ an End of the World Party (hey, it’s 2012 right?) let the lovely lionesses help you plan!
Can you describe your life (so far) in 3-5 songs?
Childhood: “Yesterday” – The Beatles (Help!)
Music becomes important: “Guitar” – Cake (Prolonging the Magic)
Teenagedom: “Ruiner” – Nine Inch Nails (The Downward Spiral)
College: “International You Day” – No Use For A Name (More Betterness!)
Now: “No Love” – Eminem feat. Lil Wayne (Recovery)
What is your favorite love song?
“Love You Madly” by Cake. I think it perfectly sums up the way people want to feel. And how hard that is to keep going!
If you could go see anyone perform live who would it be?
Many, anyone is such a huge question. Right now I’d really like to see Explosions in the Sky because I want to have a real emotional experience during a show instead of being a passive receiver.
What is your preferred format of music?
I do have 8-tracks, but that’s not my favorite way to listen to music. Vinyl or CDs are my medium of choice.
Are you a musician? If so, what do you play? If not, what would you play?
I have tried hard, several times, to be a musician! The thing I wish I could play the most is my own voice. I am a terrible singer!
*Do you know someone who should be on the vendor/inspiration page? Just email me and let’s chat!
**I promise I’m working on throwing a fest in 2012 – but if not, DEFINITELY 2013!!
