Sunday Singles: Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels
Each week I digitize a 45 from my own personal collection and share it with the earholes of the internet. The Sunday Singles are not just for those planning a wedding, but for music lovers across the board. It’s a recollection of the past with the sound of vinyl against a needle and the warm song that results.

Mitch is like a firework. Loud, bright, colorful, and FUN. One of my favorite quotes by him sums up his attitude quite nicely: “Hollywood, that’s where I could’ve gone if I wasn’t such a punk. If I just learned to bend over and say thank you a little more politely, it could’ve been great.”
This 45 starts out with a bang with a sing-a-long, clap-happy tune dubbed “Little Latin Lupe Lu”. The b-side slows it down just a bit with a serenade of hope complete with awesome backups and horn melodies.
