Guest Mix: DJ Mike Sincere with Scratch Weddings
Over the next few weeks I’ve invited a variety of DJs from Scratch Weddings to supply a guest mix! Each mix will be based on a certain part of the wedding day, and will hopefully provide you with some musical inspiration for your day! Today, DJ Mike Sincere with a list of the Classic “Must Play” tracks!

From a DJ’s standpoint, creating a list of “must play” songs is a challenging task. My job, first and foremost, is to make the bride and the groom happy and play to their musical taste. However, that doesn’t mean that the people in attendance are fans of the same classic rock or R&B as the couple. How to please everyone? Insert my list of “must play” songs here. This go-to list is a barometer to help me read the crowd and feel the energy in the room.
Here’s my DJ secret: I usually start off by picking a classic song from this list that the bride and groom will love and will get them dancing. When all the guests join them on the dance floor, I build the vibe from the couple’s pre-selected song list by mixing and blending in other tracks to create a fun and memorable soundtrack for their perfect evening.
Earth Wind & Fire – “September”
Bel Biv Devoe – “Poison”
Michael Jackson – “P.Y.T.”
Prince – “1999”
Run Dmc ft. Aerosmith – “Walk This Way”
Van Morrison – “Brown Eyed Girl”
Gap Band – “You dropped a bomb on me”
Jackson 5 – “ABC”
Michael Jackson – “Thriller”
Rick James – “Give it to me baby”
AC/DC – “Shook me all night long”

Anita Ward – “Ring my bell”
