Air Review – Low Wishes

Both yesterday and today we’ve had a break in the heat here, and it reminds me that Fall is right around the corner! While I am stoked for the crisp air, autumn colors, and warm scents, I definitely will miss Summer. The pool parties, beach trips, lake swims, river walks are all coming to a close…but at least we have campfires, s’mores, cool weather, and pumpkin pie coming our way! This song is pretty perfect for this season transition. It’s a folksy, poppy song with a sprinkle of “twangy” on top! Want more? You can actually stream their 4 song EP below!

I’m not gonna lie you guys, today is totally nerve-wracking for me! Tonight the band I’m in, The Porcharitas, is playing our FIRST show ever! I’ve wanted to be in a band for TEN years now…and it’s finally happening with an amazing group of gals. I’m equally thrilled and nervous for tonight. Send me your music vibes and hopefully I’ll hit all the right notes on the keyboard (and when I sing).

Anyway, to get my mind off of things, all I have to do is swoon over this wedding! Khaki shot this fabulous shindig in Brooklyn the weekend gay marriage became legal in NYC. Although it’s silly to even still be an issue, I’m incredibly stoked for all of those in love that can now tie the knot and celebrate with their friends and loved ones. I know I’ve definitely seen albums by The Sherrys, but I’m not sure how many songs I’ve actually heard by them. When I came across their 45 it was the song “Pop Pop Pop-Pie” that intrigued me most. I personally love the song, but you can be the judge for yourself! If you’re one of these brides doing pies instead of cakes, this would be a cute “pie cutting” song, dontcha think?! Apparently the song was written in hopes to be popular among the hottest dance craze of the time called The Popeye!

PS – I didn’t actually intend to do two girl bands back-to-back, but the computer that we use to digitize albums is in the repair shop, and I already had the Sherrys uploaded to my media library. So next week, expect a bit of diversity!

omg I can’t get enough of this happy-clappy summer song! Leave it to the Jacuzzi Boys to make it happen! While summer is ending for some, there’s still enough time to sit by a pool and crank the stereo for others.
