Matt and Rupal are big music fans whose tastes are as diverse as their backgrounds (Indian bride & Catholic groom)! After two ceremonies it was time for the big party called the reception. They wanted a bit of hip hop, a bit of rock, a bit of 80’s and a bit of Indian music. It was quite the challenge for the DJ (Taiga & Mike), yet he did a great job putting together all of the different genres and eras and rocking such a diverse crowd! The dance floor stayed packed, which is exactly what the couple wanted!

Wesley and Emma are two Super Talented Love Birds (photographers) that are from my neck of the woods (North Alabama, y’all). When I came across Britt and Lindsey’s adorable engagement, I knew you all had to see this! Aside from marvelous photos, you can read about one of the most adorable proposals EVER! Lindsey shares:

We were staying with my parents in Atlanta for a couple days and Britt wanted to take me out on a date one night while we were there. We had a great dinner downtown at a restaurant where we had eaten together the first time he ever visited Atlanta and then went to a movie. After the movie, he surprised me by taking me to one of our favorite spots in Atlanta—Piedmont Park. He had brought this amazing setup for a picnic in the park with the beautiful city skyline in the background. After we sat down on a blanket, he pulled out a heart-shaped pillow that he had given me a couple weeks into when we had first started dating just over two years ago. I had the pillow on my bed ever since he gave it to me, but somehow, before we left for Atlanta, he had secretly taken it from my apartment. He then pulled out a seam ripper and told me that he wanted to show me what God had written on his heart two years ago. He opened the seams of the pillow on one side and there was a piece of white fabric rolled up and sewn to the inside of the pillow. He handed me the pillow and told me to read what was written on the fabric. I unrolled the fabric and read the words, “Will you marry me?” and looked over at him and he was down on one knee. He had written those words and sewn the fabric in before he had given the pillow to me two years earlier! It was absolutely incredible and the sweetest, most romantic proposal I ever could have dreamed of.

The Decemberists – I4U & U4Me

Today The Decemberists released their newest EP, Long Live the King. While I’ve caught a couple of the songs here and there on some of my favorite music sites, they didn’t seem “right” for Hi-Fi Weddings. However, when I heard this diddy, the skies parted and today’s tune was born! Happy days!

PS – I’m extra giddy today because our electrician is here at our house, which means our restoration is right on schedule! And tonight I’m lucky enough to capture the Design*Sponge book signing in Birmingham, Alabama! If you have plans to be there, come say hi!

While I only know of a handful of record stores that won’t allow you to photograph inside of them (sad face), I’m sure it always helps to know the owner! Ryan is friends with the wax dealer at Gramaphone Records and knew the minute he contacted the talented photographer, Danielle, that’s where he and Dalia wanted to showcase their love for each other.

King Khan – I Got Love

Yesterday my husband and I finally began tackling the restoration of the upstairs of our 100+ year old home. Our electrician is coming on November 1st to power us up, so before then we have to get all of the drywall outta there. Which means we’ve been in need of some rockin’ music to keep the energy flowing. Enter King Khan. Whether he’s solo or with The Shines or BBQ (and of course we can’t forget Tandoori Knights), you know it’s gonna be great. Chris and Hannah know what’s up…they are the first to submit a playlist with our beloved Khan. This tune is definitely a new favorite and perhaps it will add the pick-me-up to your Tuesday!
